All employees are given Health & Safety Training to ensure the safety of themselves, other employees and workers and the general public. All training is documented should evidence of our training be required. Once employees have settled with the Company, they are offered opportunities to increase their skills in other areas to encourage promotion to Supervisor or other trade skills. All team learn from eachother on site, hence why many of our team are multiskilled and able to carry out a variety of duties to a high standard.
Company Introduction
All new employees will be given a Company Introduction followed by a Health & Safety Induction, Company Manuals and PPE will also be issued.
Continuing Professional Development
Working with local authorities and our membership bodies, where available we attend several events over the year to keep up to date in areas such as Building Regulations and new innovations in construction.
For the past 5 + years we have been running a Training Plan with Construction Skills (formerly CITB), we are able to receive funding towards training specified in our annual plan. This has unfortunately suffered sever cut backs recently, however we endeavour to still deliver a top class training programme to our team.

Construction Competency
In order for anyone to gain a CSCS card they must undertake a Health & Safety Test. All of our operatives on site, Supervisors, Trade and General Operatives have undertaken this test, as have our Managers.
Regular mini appraisals
We hold job chats with every member of team every 3-4 months. This is a useful opportunity for both parties to give feedback.
Team meetings
We hold team meetings every 3-4 months. Similar to Job Chats, this gives all our team the opportunity to get together and discuss contracts and offer advice. We also include a small training session on subjects such as Housekeeping, Cost Efficiency, The Environment etc.
Health & Safety is one of the most important factors on site, therefore we regularly run refresher courses for all team in areas such as Asbestos, Working at Height, Manual Handling, HAV, Tower Scaffolds and Small Tools.
Waste Management
Much of our inhouse training focus' on Waste Management, Recycling and areas on site affecting those who live and work in the area such as noise and dust. All team are involved in our Environmental Management System and its operation.
Decorating, Carpentry, Building
Most of our employees have undertaken a time served apprenticeship. Some of our team have learnt their skills through Supervisors and Skilled Tradespeople on site, this has led to their NVQ2 accreditations.
Toolbox Talks, Site Inductions
We carry out a variety of in house training from Toolbox Talks at the end of Staff Meetings, Site Inductions, Office and Site based training in trade, health & safety, environment and general business subjects.
As a member of the Devon CTG we have the opportunity to attend a broad range of events, these range from Health & Safety training to Leadership and Management Workshops.
